This application was developed as a risk assessment tool for logging trucks descending steep forest roads. The user inputs relevant road parameters (road surface traction, length, and grade), and the application determines the maximum load (as payload or gross combination weight), and maximum speed that the logging truck can safely descend the road. If a load cannot be safely hauled under the specified conditions, then the application will alert the user.
